This is a witty story about one-eyed Jake and his pirate ship. His crew are disgruntled but too frightened to leave, however, when one-eyed Jake's lust for riches gets too much, he has to throw his crew onto other ships as his own threatens to sink under the weight of treasure. Pat Hutchins won the Kate Greenaway Medal for "The Wind Blew".
