When Babette Cole gets her teeth into a topic, you just know the result is going to be something special--the woman who brought us Mummy Laid an Egg , Hair in Funny Places , and the adorable TrueLove this time tackles manners in the most unusual and outrageous fashion. Take one aristocratic deerhound (complete with tiara) and watch as she attempts to teach her rabble-rousing, and frankly rather motley brood of boisterous pups a lesson or two in good manners. In true Cole style, the pictures speak louder than the words, and the common-sense advice of the text is counteracted by the outrageous reactions of the out-of-control pups in the illustrations. Children will adore this unusual look at etiquette, and will enjoy searching the pictures for images of irreverent behaviour, while grown-ups will undoubtedly appreciate the subtle (and often not so subtle) wit of Babette Cole's slightly manic illustration.
