A short story about a dog and a kitten. Percy, the dog, lives very happily in a house that is all his own. Then one day a brown box comes, and out of the box comes Toto - a little ginger kitten with blue eyes. After that, whatever Percy does and wherever Percy goes, along comes Toto. After a while, Percy gets grumbly and growly and grouchy and goes up to bed and, when Toto follows, he roars at him to go away. He calls him a "teeny-tiny, tincy-wincy, tiddly-widdly tiger". But when Percy sleeps, he has horrible dreams, in which a great big tiger threatens to eat him for dinner. Percy wakes to find Toto purring beside him in the basket. "Oh, Toto," says Percy, now softened to the presence of his little companion, "I'm so glad you came along." Anni Axworthy's books include "Anni's Animal Library", a series of pre-school concept books.
