The Hazlewood High series is about life in high school and does not shy away from the hardships of teenage life. Author Sharon M. Draper has won the Margaret A. Edwards Award honouring her significant and lasting contribution to writing for teens, and received the Coretta Scott King Award for Forged by Fire.
