"Man and Wife" by Wilkie Collins explores the complexities of marriage, fidelity, and morality. The story follows the lives of several characters, mainly focusing on the tumultuous relationship between the central couple, who grapple with societal expectations and personal desires. As secrets unfold and pasts collide, themes of deception and the consequences of choices emerge. Collins expertly weaves a narrative filled with suspense and intrigue, examining the darker aspects of love and commitment in Victorian society. The novel ultimately raises questions about the nature of trust and the institution of marriage itself. [Generated by language model - please report any problems].
