"Armadale" by Wilkie Collins is a Victorian sensation novel that intertwines themes of identity, revenge, and moral ambiguity. The story follows the lives of two men, Armadale and the enigmatic villainous character, Ozias Midwinter, who are linked by fate through a shared heritage. As Armadale inherits a fortune and a family legacy filled with dark secrets, he becomes embroiled in a web of deceit orchestrated by Midwinter. The narrative explores the consequences of past actions, the nature of evil, and the complexities of love and betrayal, leading to a gripping climax that challenges societal norms and personal responsibility.
