Toon Tellegen is one of Holland's most celebrated writers for both children and adults. He started his literary career as a poet, and began writing for children in the mid-1980s. In his dreamlike animal stories, Toon explores his fascination with the incomprehensible and unpredictable side of human behaviour. A G. P. for many years, he now writes full time from his home in Amsterdam. Jessica Ahlberg, daughter of the acclaimed author/illustrator team, Janet and Allan Ahlberg, studied fine art at Winchester College and has gone on to illustrate several books for children.
