Ross Collins was born in Glasgow in 1972. In his last year at college, he won the Macmillan children's book prize. He lives in Glasgow and is now an established picture book illustrator. Tom Macrae is best known as a scriptwriter for television: his work has been shown on both Channel 4 and BBC2. He has recently written two episodes for the new series of Doctor Who. This is his first children's book.
