Douglas Hill was a leading writer of children's science fiction and fantasy, Douglas was best known for his series Last Legionary and Huntsman but had written over 70 books. Douglas passed away in 2007. Julie Sykes has had over twenty books published and she won the Nottinghamshire Children's Book Award in 1996 and 1997. Susan Gates has written books for a very wide age range and is perhaps best-known for her Carnegie shortlisted title, RAIDER. Susan lives in County Durham.
