Susan Coolidge was an American from Ohio State who started writing after serving as a nurse in the Civil War. In total, there are 5 books about the irrepressable Katy Carr. Kate Lum lives in Canada and is the author of WHAT which won the Children's Book Award in 1999. Sue Hellard lives in London and is the illustrator of many wonderful books for children. This is her first book for Bloomsbury - but it was such fun working on it we already have another in the pipe-line!
