Steve Voake grew up in Midsomer Norton, near Bath. After leaving school he sold ice-creams in the south of France for a while, and before becoming a full time writer, he was head teacher of a village school in Somerset. Emma Dodson loves to be busy. She has been working as a freelance writer/illustrator for 10 years. She has written and illustrated childrens' picture books, produced images for magazines, greetings cards and giftwrap. For 14 years she has also worked for film and TV, producing props and art work. Emma also teaches on the Illustration BA at University of Westminster.
