A frog who lives in a deep, dark well, is very happy there. He ignores the calls of the birds to see the wider world. But then, one day, everything changes. This is a retelling of a popular traditional fable from Taiwan. The Frog in the Well is a phonics-based reading book. Beautifully illustrated throughout, this 332-word fiction story features a fully decodable text, suitable for ages 6 - 7. The Frog in the Well covers the fourth phase of letters and sounds that children meet in Phase 5 of Letters and Sounds, the UK Government's synthetic phonics reading programme. The Frog in the Well is part of Ransom Reading Stars, a structured reading programme for children learning to read. The series has fifteen levels: four phonics levels (covering Letters and Sounds Phases 2 to 5) and eleven book band levels (Pink through to Lime).
