Have you ever wondered why leaves change color in the fall? Read this story to find out. The Brown Fairy meant well, but he made an awful mistake. Mother Nature was furious! Join the Brown Fairy, his sisters, Mother Nature and their friends as they approach Father Time and ask for the unthinkable. Preview Chapter 1: When the earth was young, Mother Nature saw that it was barren. So she made trees. They were impressive, with strong trunks flowing into long branches. But they were a pale gray color. Mother Nature loved the trees but felt bad because they looked so dull. Out of her desire for the trees to be beautiful sprang the Brown Fairy. Mother Nature said "Brown Fairy, you are handsome and strong, and you can bring color to our world. Please paint our trees brown." Brown Fairy was pleased to do so. He swooped down upon the world and painted all the trees amber, tan and other shades of brown. When he was finished, he was tired but happy.

David Ross was somehow always the reserve in his school football team, which gave him lots of time to observe the game. He loves to hate supporting Heart of Midlothian and has written numerous other books for children.
