Joanna Nadin was born in Nottingham. She is a former broadcast journalist and Special Adviser to the Prime Minister, and continues to freelance as a political speechwriter. She has also been a cleaner and a juggler. Paula Harrison: Before launching a successful writing career, Paula was a primary school teacher. Her years teaching taught her what children like in stories and how they respond to humour and suspense. She went on to put her experience to good use, writing successful series such as Rescue Princesses among many others. Jennie Lovlie: Jenny is a Norwegian illustrator, designer, creative, foodie and bird enthusiast. She is fascinated by the strong bond between humans and animals and loves using bold colours and shapes in her work. MC Stevens is a martial arts instructor with 16 years' experience in karate, weapons, and jiu jitsu. A former English and History teacher at secondary school level, she also works for an international charity which empowers young girls in developing countries, using karate as a tool to develop confidence and self-determination. Steve Brown is inspired by animations of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s which comes through in the energy and characterisation of his style. WARRIOR MONKEYS is his dream project as he has practised martial arts since the age of 8. Timothy Knapman has been writing for children for over ten years. From space to geography, his books have been translated into over 15 languages. Paul Shipton is an award-winning children's author. He published his first children's book in 1991, (Zargon Zoo). He lives and works in Wisconsin, USA. Isabel Thomas is an experienced author of non-fiction books for children and has written many articles for national newspapers including The Guardian and The Times. Nikki Gamble is a lecturer, writer and directs the Write Away education consultancy. She is an evaluator for the Literature Matters project which aims to promote children's literature in initial teacher training courses. Author: Simon Puttock wa born in New Zealand but now lives in Edinburgh. He is an established children's picture book writer and has worked with many publishers including Macmillan and OUP. Teresa Heapy writes stories and non-fiction books for children. She also writes and material to support teachers and parents, and gets lots of ideas from her three young children!
