This collection of hero tunes is the 'brother' to the Princess Piano Book and interprets its theme just as widely and at a similar level. The pieces range from Bizet's March of the Toreadors to an arrangement of the Superman Theme and Walker's own piece, Captain Xenon's Intergalactic Mystery Tune. The book has a similar mix of pieces, games, puzzles and teacher duets but is probably a little harder at the start as it goes into hands together straight away with an arrangement of Handel's See, the Conquering Hero Comes. However my pupils were very excited to try arrangements of the themes from Batman and the James Bond and Superman films and this delight has pushed their technique on. This book will do much to encourage boys to play the piano and keep their interest at this vital pre-Grade 1 level.
