The story of the draught of fishes is a well-known story from the Bible that appears in the Gospel of Luke and the Gospel of John. It recounts an event in which Jesus miraculously provides a large catch of fish for his disciples. According to the story, Jesus had been teaching a crowd of people by the shore of the Sea of Galilee, and when he finished speaking, he asked Simon Peter, who was a fisherman, to take his boat out into deeper water and let down his nets for a catch. Peter, who had been fishing all night and caught nothing, was skeptical but agreed to do as Jesus asked. When Peter and the other fishermen let down their nets, they caught so many fish that their nets began to break. They called to their partners in another boat to come and help them, and together they filled both boats with so many fish that they began to sink. Upon seeing this miraculous catch of fish, Peter fell down at Jesus' feet and said, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord." Jesus then reassured him and told him not to be afraid, that from that day on, he would be catching men instead of fish. The story is often interpreted as a symbol of the power and authority of Jesus, as well as his ability to provide for his followers. It also serves as an important moment in the calling of Peter and the other disciples to become fishers of men and spread the message of Jesus throughout the world.
