This is a New Windmills Collection of sixteen stories by great contemporary writers. "Brave New Words" is a fabulous collection of texts by many of the nation's favourite children's writers. The authors include Anne Fine, Bill Bryson, Roald Dahl, Jacqueline Wilson, Alan Gibbons, and Robert Swindells. It is based on the new national curriculum list of recommended contemporary writers, this collection is designed to help students move up from Level 4 to Level 5. The variety, in both pace and genre, of the fun, lively, relevant texts help to engage students. This collection introduces students to the concept of genre through four sections: humour, history, diaries and sport. Each genre is accompanied by an eight lesson scheme of work and assessment task.
