AJ is an eleven year old boy who is great at running, like his grandfather in his youth, and has dreams of competing in the Olympics one day. However, Grandad has recently died and AJ's parents, who have learning difficulties, are having problems managing money, which was something for which Grandad took responsibility. How AJ copes with his new situation, and how others in his life also learn to adjust and collaborate, is at the heart of this novel which features strong characterisation and humorous realistic dialogue.
