A family is holidaying in a little cottage near the sea. It should be an idyllic time, but the eldest daughter is furiously unhappy with her father's new wife, and finds her incredibly irritating. She meets a brother and sister who befriend her, and welcome her into their own chaotic family. However, it seems the girl will never manage to be friendly with her step-mother. It takes a dramatic night-time cliff-climb, and a rescue, for those two to become reconciled!
