Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg, Austria in 1756. Wolfgang's father was a musician and was keen to encourage his son's natural musical talent. A true prodigy, Wolfgang was composing musicals and playing various musical instruments by the age of 5, and was writing operas in his early teens. This book looks at the personal life of Wolfgang - his marriage and his children - as well as his musical career and eventual work as composer at the court of Emperor Joseph II. Despite his success, Wolfgang was often in debt and his constant hard work affected his health. He died shortly after composing the musical 'The Magic Flute', aged 35.

An intriguing read, complete with quotation panels, date chart, glossary and index.
