Peter Bailey has been illustrating books for more than thirty-five years and has worked with many of today's best known authors, including Philip Pullman, Allan Ahlberg, Michael Morpurgo and Joan Aiken. He lives near Liverpool with his wife, Sian, who is also an illustrator. Rose Impey has written several best-selling series for Orchard, including Titchy Witch and Colour Crackers. She lives in Leicester. Nathan Reed is a new and highly talented illustrator. He lives in London.

This book contains the following stories:

Rapunzel
A poor couple forced to surrender their newborn daughter to a powerful witch all for having stolen some lettuce to satisfy the wifes unbearable hunger. And so the witch takes Rapunzel to a secluded tower where the girl spends her days singing and braiding her long hair. Then one day a prince hears her sweet voice and decides to set her free. But the witch discovers the plot and chops off the girl's hair. She uses the hair to capture him and turns him blind to keep him from his love.

Rumpelstiltskin
Rumplestiltskin helps a miller's daughter turn straw into gold in return for her first child. Only if she can guess his name will she be set free.
