Roger Lancelyn Green was born in 1918. He loved storytelling and was fascinated by traditional fairy tales, myths and legends from around the world. His retellings include Egyptian, Greek and Norse legends, plus a retelling of Robin Hood. He died in 1987. Nick Warburton was a primary school teacher for ten years before deciding to become a full-time writer. He has written plays for stage, television and radio as well as books for children, including The Battle of Baked Bean Alley; Normal Nesbitt.
