In "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," a curious little girl named Goldilocks ventures into the home of three bears while they are away. She explores their cozy cottage, trying out their belongings: porridge that is too hot, too cold, and just right; chairs that are too big, too small, and just right; and beds that she ultimately finds comfortable enough to fall asleep in. When the bears return, they discover Goldilocks sleeping in one of the beds. Startled, Goldilocks wakes up and escapes, learning a lesson about respecting others' property and boundaries. Then she tries the three chairs in turn, but is too big for Baby Bear's chair and smashes it. Feeling like a nap she looks for a nice bed to sleep in and finds that Baby Bear's bed is just right.
