Stephen Hawking
Stephen Hawking was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist and author. He studied physics at Oxford and then physics with maths in his PHd at Cambridge. He worked with Roger Penrose in the field of general relativity, and theorised that black holes emit radiation. He also posited a theory of cosmology grounded in a union of quantum mechanics and the general theory of relativity. Hawking suffered from motor neurone disease and after the loss of his speech used a special device to speak. His most famous work was his book 'A Brief History of Time'.
