Roald Dahl's Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a Roald Dahl musical for schools, joins the famously infamous Snow-White and the Seven Dwarfs and the very smelly but loveable Jack and the Beanstalk plus many more in a glittering line up of wickedly funny productions which children and audiences just love.

On trial for her crimes, Goldilocks looks like the sweet little innocent who'd give us her last sweetie. Could she really be the brazen crook who stole the porridge from under the snouts of the self-respecting, harmless Bears? The Jury will decide (but who will have the last laugh?). Let the trial commence!

As with every one of these great Roald Dahl musicals, Goldilocks is based on an orchestral commission by the Roald Dahl Foundation. The concert work, from which the schools' musical is derived is by Kurt Schwertsik, and schools can use the extracts provided from the orchestral work to enhance their performances.

To present a public performance of this musical you will need a performance licence. Simply email education@harpercollins.co.uk or phone 01484 668 148 and request a Performance Licence Application Form.

Kaye Umansky is the much-published and popular children's writer and author of several music titles for A&C Black. Helen MacGregor, co-author of Music Express, is Music Adviser for Kent. Stephen Chadwick (consultant) is author of Developing Music Skills and three Roald Dahl musicals, BAFTA award-winning composer, educationalist and studio sound engineer. Roald Dahl was born in Wales of Norwegian parents the child of a second marriage. His father and elder sister died when Roald was just three. His mother was left to raise two stepchildren and her own four children. Roald was her only son. He had an unhappy time at school and this influenced his writing greatly. He once said that what distinguished him from most other childrens writers was this business of remembering what it was like to be young. Many of his books have been turned into films - Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, The Witches, James and The Giant Peach, Esia Trot, Fantastic Mr Fox. Roalds childhood and schooldays are the subject of his autobiography Boy. https://www. roalddahl. com/ Sheena Roberts started compiling baby songs to sing with her own young children. Like many parents she needed a reminder of the songs her own parents had sung to her. Sheena is a children's song writer and editor, specialising in educational music.
