Mega Makers! is a seven-day children's holiday club (an opening Sunday service, five club sessions and a closing Sunday service) based on Matthew's Gospel. The focal point of this club is the Mega Machine which has been invented by the main presenter supported by his apprentice. This machine has the ability to enlarge anything that is placed inside it and after the final testing at the club will be released onto an unsuspecting world. The Mega Machine demonstrates the concept of things getting bigger and bigger which parallels the theme of Mega Makers! that the more we discover about God, the vaster his love for us may seem. This calls us to respond by loving him and becoming lifelong followers of Jesus. This resource book is packed with creative ideas on how to explore these remarkable stories - ideas you can change and adapt to suit your club and context. There are also ideas for construction (craft), games, drama, creative prayer and worship. Mega Makers! has a mixture of up-front presentation and small-group activities, allowing children and leaders to build meaningful relationships with each other and with God. The holiday club programme is written for the 5 to 11 age group. There are ideas on the website for extending the age group to include under-5s and/or 11 to 14s. It is for you to decide the best age group for your club, and select the activities to fit. Every effort has been made to ensure this club programme is suitable for children with little or no church background. It is a tool for churches whose desire is to reach out to children and their families outside their church community. It should work equally well for churches wishing to use it as a discipleship resource for children already part of the church family.
