A picture book which gives children a first taste of Spanish, Italian, German and French by counting to nine in each language. Every evening before snuggling into bed, Mr and Mrs Shoemaker's ten children line up their shoes in a neat row. Then one evening Mr Shoemaker only counts nine pairs of shoes. He gets his foreign friends to check, and they count them in their own languages: Spanish, Italian, German and French. Where are the missing shoes? This book will give young children confidence to try counting in other languages.
