Matt takes his shabby old stuffed toy, Watt the Dog, with him everywhere. But in time he grows up, and doesn't notice when Watt falls into the river and is swept away. Down the river goes Watt, past fields, woods and villages, until he is found by a little girl who takes him home to love. An outstanding picture book that touches the heart, with pictures in soft bright crayon of a bedraggled but irresistibly appealing toy, and a story that will strike a chord of recognition with all children.
