Rachel Halstead, consulting editor, received a BA (Hons) in History from Durham University College in London. She is now head of the History Department for a British secondary school. Struan Reid, consulting editor, is an archaeologist and historian who has written a number of educational and reference books for children. His main area of expertise is writing history books aimed at a younger audience. Straun Reid is a graduate in archaeology, and worked for five years on historical sites in the Middle East. He returns to give lectures on the castles of the saracens and the crusaders.
