This is an inspiring book that shows just how inventive children can be with something as simple as rainwater in a bowl! It is a wonderful little book, that takes the reader to the highest level in the "I'm Going to Read" series, with over 300 words. It fits in with years 4-6 at school (ages 8 upwards) which takes the children up to Key Stage 3. Lots of fun, lots of science: when Sophie and Hank fill up a bowl of rainwater on a gloomy day, they have a great time seeing what happens when the water freezes, when it's mixed with food colouring and when it's left out in the sun. It is sure to inspire kids to experiment with water on their own. Developed to grow the new reader, "I'm Going to Read[trademark]" offers children entertaining stories and spectacular artwork. The books are a strong complement to whatever reading programme your child is using at school - whether it be phonics, literature based or a combination of the two. It gives your child a richer vocabulary of more than 300 different words, offers short chapters, multiple stories, or poems, more complex plots for the newly independent reader, with an emphasis on reading for meaning.
