This is a collection for the millenium on the theme of time. The book takes a wide-ranging look at Time, including the beginning of the world, the present, and the future; being born, having birthdays, and growing old. There are humorous poems and sad poems, old and new poems, familiar and less well-known ones, all included to reflect and illuminate Time. The poets include Ted Hughes, Michael Rosen, and Seamus Heaney; Tennyson, Auden, and Shakespeare. The poems are illustrated in colour and black and white by a number of artists, who all bring their own contributions to the theme. The authors have been editing anthologies for twenty years. Their titles include "The New Dragon Book of Verse", "The Oxford Treasury of Children's Poems" and "The Oxford Treasury of Classic Poems". 'A wonderful anthology ...this is a book to savour.' - "The Sunday Telegraph".
