Aimed at early years practitioners, this book provides ideas for using water play as the focus for learning. The activities range from creating a crocodile world to telling simple stories, and each one includes problem-solving elements. These cover the Government's Areas of Learning for under-fives which are language and literacy, mathematics, personal and social development, knowledge and understanding of the world, and physical and creative development. The activities have step-by-step instructions, explaining what materials are required and what to do. Tips are provided on areas such as safety, making links with the home and how to use adult helpers most effectively along with six photocopiable sheets with extension and reinforcement ideas.
