At first the family really like the lady that moves into the house next door. She gives them delicious red juice, and seems very friendly. But then she gets a duck to live on her garden pond, and it never stops quacking, which drives them all mad. A neighbourhood feud develops, and every idiosyncrasy previously admired now gains sinister overtones. Finally, though, Dad astounds them all, by finding the perfect (and certainly the only!) solution, and the friendship is restored.
