The Big Magic Animal Book is one of four collections of fantastic stories including The Big Book of Dragons , The Big Haunted House Book and The Big Wicked Witch Book . The Big Magic Animal Book is a terrific buy and a really good read. Inside the bright, fun, hard-back covers there are three stories by different writers and each one features an animal with truly magical powers. In Linda Newbery's "The Marmalade Pony"" Hannah's wooden hobby horse turns into a real pony at night and she has the most wonderful rides on his back. In Malcolm Yorke's ""The Wishing Horse"" an old man and his magic horse, Albert, hilariously change everything for the better in a country ruled by a greedy king when Albert accidently- on- purpose mishears his greedy wishes. In Ann Ruffell's ""Mr Wellington Boots"", Selina and her family are lucky enough to have been adopted by Mr Wellington Boots, a witch's cat. Selina ends up not only with a real white elephant of her own but having the craziest, most wonderful holiday of her life. -- Tamsin Palmer "
