In "Runaway Twin" by Peg Kehret, thirteen-year-old Pearl finds herself yearning for a connection with her long-lost twin sister, her only family. After a tumultuous home life, she makes the bold decision to run away in search of her twin, hoping to reunite and escape her struggles. Throughout her journey, Pearl encounters various challenges, including a troubled friendship and unexpected adventures. Along the way, she learns about the importance of family, self-discovery, and resilience. Pearl's quest ultimately leads her to a deeper understanding of herself and the bonds that define her life.
