Zoubida Mouhssin was born in Casablanca, Morocco, and moved to Belgium when she was two years old. Both her North African and Belgian cultures are important to her work. The French language is Zoubida's first love, but she is comfortable with other languages and is a translator for English and Spanish. She began writing and telling stories for children when she met Pascale Moutte-Baur and they began collaborating together and created this book. In 2016, they were nominated for the Key Colors Award of the City of Hasselt in Belgium. Pascale Moutte-Baur was born in Marseille, France. She spent ten years living in Germany and now lives in Brussels, Belgium. As a child, Pascale spent hours looking at illustrations in children's magazines and admiring beautiful picture books. She was rarely without a pencil in her hand. Pascale began her career as a French teacher, but later graduated as an illustrator at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. Her graphic work is inspired by her colorful native town of Marseille and the diverse world she lives in.

"Repetition, clever artwork, and the idea of teamwork will appeal to a young audience." - Booklist ""Duck is Stuck" is the tale of a duck who fell asleep and woke up with his legs stuck in a frozen pond. The story teaches children about friendship and the power of teamwork. Zoubida Mouhssin doesn't patronize the audience and doesn't ignore the fact that it is pretty strange for a duck to get frozen into a pond. Overall, this book is a good choice for kids between the ages of 3 and 7." - Lea Bickerton - Bookseller "Duck is Stuck is a predictable text with suspense! Young children will love this book and enjoy making predictions about how Duck might get unstuck. The vibrant colors in the illustrations help make this a book that is sure to be enjoyed." - Jaye Thiel - Educator "A cute little book intimating that friends help friends. Cooperation is key is getting the stuck duck out of his predicament. Everyone was willing to help and cooperate." - Virginia Holsten - Librarian
