Evie Safarewicz trained as a ceramic designer before becoming a freelance illustrator. She is a visiting lecturer at Canterbury College of Art and Design, where she teaches plant drawing. She is also an enthusiastic traveller, taking a particular interest in the peoples and landscapes of Africa. Obi Onyefulu was born in Onitsha, Nigeria. He studied for several years in the USA and took a doctorate in Modern European History at Florida State University. Since his return to Nigeria, he has published a number of textbooks on Nigerian history. He is an avid collector of Nigerian folk tales.
