This is a full Russian GCSE course which meets the requirements of the revised Modern Languages Orders and the new GCSE syllabuses. This is the third and final part of the course. "Novaya Iskra" replaces ""Iskra", previously published by Stanley Thornes. Books 1 and 2 are to follow later - book 1 in the autumn of 1996, and book 2 in the spring of 1997. The book has been designed to prepare pupils effectively for the new GCSEs. Key features of the book are: the use of the target language for both rubrics and responses; task types, rubrics and activities typical of the new GCSE papers; a glossary of rubrics and task types as a reference point to help pupils gain confidence with common target language instructions; "Proverka" exercises, to provide practice in key grammar points; and background information pages presenting, in Russian, brief impressions of aspects of Russian life.
