A boy narrates this simple story about a bottle that he finds. He takes it home, cleans it up and stores his marbles in it, and then his money. One day he decides to play music on it, along with other bottles and jars in his mother's collection. But he breaks all the jars with his vigorous banging - except for Bottle! He cleans up all the broken glass while his mother fills the unbroken bottle with flowers whose scent fills the house. The story ends with the narrator wondering what lies in store for Bottle in the future.
