Nisha Chahal is a freelance author and illustrator. She is inspired by the things she sees around her, the detail in nature, and how the love from friends and family can turn a negative situation into a positive. Having been through unfortunate times herself, she has experienced controlling people, who take a hold of life and make you think that you won't achieve anything. Nisha Chahal is forever grateful to her long time university friend, Charlotte Rose, for having provided inspiration and the realisation that one can be happy despite life's setbacks. In fact, Charlotte's mischievous and 'prancing' ways made her laugh so much, that Nisha Chahal created Laughalot and Prancealot! As well as being exquisitely illustrated and well written, all of Nisha Chahal's books have a message to convey. Everyone is unique and special, and no matter how hard people try to take something away from you, they can not, because inside each one of us there is an unlimited ability to overcome negativity and the power to achieve anything you want, including happiness. Nisha Chahal's achievements have included being shortlisted for the 'India Is' 2012 Photography Competition, shortlisted for the Alfa Romeo Young Designer Award, and shortlisted for the Filofax Cover Story 2012 Competition. She has showcased works in many major cities including London, Dundee, Fife, Edinburgh and Glasgow. When she's not busy creating possibly the next top-selling children's book, Nisha Chahal can be found, laughing, drinking hot cocoa, doodling and taking photographs of wonderful things.
