Great for age 3-9 years
This is one of four books which contain a different concept. This one is an alphabet book for a child just starting to read, but they're not simply concept books. These are readers full of lively images and ideas. With lots of rhyme, they are fun to read aloud to a pre-school child, or for a child just starting to learn to read. There's a lot to talk about in each book for parents and children. Judy Hindley has written "A Piece of String is a Wonderful Thing", "The Wheeling and Whirling-Around Book" and "Into the Jungle". Nick Sharratt illustrated the award-winning novel "Tracy Beaker" as well as his own books "My Mum and Dad Make Me laugh", "Rocket Countdown" and "Don't Put Your Finger in the Jelly, Nelly".

There are 25 pages in this book. This is a picture book. A picture book uses pictures and text to tell the story. The number of words varies from zero ('wordless') to around 1k over 32 pages. Picture books are typically aimed at young readers (age 3-6) but can also be aimed at older children (7+). This book was published 1995 by Walker Books Ltd .

Nick Sharratt was winner of the Sheffield Book Award and the Children's Book Award in 2001. An author of over fifty books for children, including Do Like a Duck Does! and Rosy's Visitors. Illustrator of The Big Red Bus by Judy Hindley.
