This drama anthology for Key Stage 3 into Key Stage 4 offers a variety of short plays and extracts for classroom use, many by well-known playwrights including Russell, Pinter, Brecht, Chekhov and Shakespeare. It covers the key elements of plot, dramatic form, setting, characterization, dialogue, performance style, historical context and themes, with clear explanations and a glossary of key terms. Activities develop students' awareness of how dramatic texts are structured, while assignments support students in writing their own short playscripts based on what they have learned.
