Kathy Couri was born in New York, but grew up in Columbus, Ohio. She attended the Columbus College of Art and Design and was recruited out of school by a large greeting card company in Kansas City. Kathy left after a few years to freelance but continue to live in Kansas. She lives in a little house with too many weeds in a neglected garden, and two "friends" Hazel and Franklin, her official squirrel chasing dogs.
