This is a CD-ROM (Mac version) which explores the habitats of the Earth using multimedia to deepen students' knowledge and understanding of themes, places and topics, Through the use of interactive research, children will learn about different environments, natural resources, weather and climate, population and the Earth's resources. The CD features deserts, mountains, forests, grasslands, rivers and lakes and urban habitats. The disk is intended to encourage geography skills and would also be useful for studies in science, information technology and environmental studies at Key Stage 2 and 3. The CD has the following key features: an index available from all screens to help the user find information in seconds; a glossary which is easily accessed from all screens; curriculum notes highlighting the statements in the National Curriculum; a user guide containing technical advice; tips on how to use the disk and narration which helps to explain the text, animation or video.
