Through the seasons and over years, Old Mother Bear's story unfolds. We watch her dig a winter den, give birth to three cubs, hunt for food, and defend her cubs against another bear. And we witness the cubs growing up, a bear growing old, and the imprint of her life upon the land. In luminous chalk paintings, three-time Caldecott Honor Book artist Molly Bang has captured all the warmth, beauty, and poetry of this extraordinary life. Includes substantial factual information on grizzly bears in an afterword.
