In "The Not-So-Star-Spangled Life of Sunita Sen" by Mitali Perkins, Sunita, a young Indian-American girl, grapples with her dual identity as she navigates the challenges of middle school. Feeling like an outsider, she faces everyday struggles at home and in school, particularly with the cultural expectations of her traditional Indian family. As she befriends a diverse group of classmates and confronts issues of racism and belonging, Sunita learns to embrace her unique heritage while forging her own path. This coming-of-age tale explores themes of identity, friendship, and the search for acceptance in a complex world. [Generated by language model - please report any problems].
