The Lighthouse series is designed to help children focus on specific reading skills, across a wide range of genres. There are 80 books in the Lighthouse series split into ten bands which increase in difficulty, both within the band and across the bands. Chris Butterworth is the author of over 70 books, mostly non-fiction, and has written on subjects as diverse as disasters, hiccups, basketball and snakes. She lives in London. Michaela Morgan is a well-regarded author whose recent Walter Tull's Scrapbook earned her glowing reviews and a boost in profile, as well as a shortlisting for the Blue Peter Book Award for Best Book with Facts. Judy Waite spent her childhood in Singapore, and then studied at the Portsmouth College of Art. She has already amassed an impressive body of published work for children, including picture book texts, educational titles and teenage fiction. She has two grown-up children, and lives in Southampton. Shoo Rayner is the author and illustrator of many well-loved books, including THE GINGER NINJA and RICKY ROCKET series. Saviour Pirotta has written a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts and won awards both here and in the US.
