Una Belle Townsend has been an elementary-school teacher for more than twenty years. She graduated from East Texas Baptist College and acquired her master's degree in elementary education at Stephen F. Austin State University. She has received many local honors for her short stories and poetry. Her other works include The Oklahoma Land Run and The Great Elephant Escape. She has lived in Yukon for more than twenty-five years. Dan Anderson is a former award-winning newspaper journalist and photographer. He resides in Katy, Texas. Anderson and Yadon are also the authors of 100 Oklahoma Outlaws, Gangsters, and Lawmen: 1839-1939, also published by Pelican. Award-winning illustrator Rick Anderson is also the illustrator of Pelican's Racecar Driver's Night Before Christmas and Christmas Stories from the South's Best Writers. He frequently speaks at children's book festivals and conducts such workshops as "The Positive Role the Arts Play in No Child Left Behind. " After receiving a degree in art education from Delta State University, Anderson taught the subject for twenty-five years. He resides in Clinton, Mississippi.
