Talking Up a Story is linked to 'Cooking Up a Story' but adds a new dimension. The CD consists of 10 sections. Each lasts under 10 minutes and has a short musical introduction, followed by a chant, followed by a story. The whole CD contains well over an hour of material and is accompanied by an explanatory booklet. Talking Up a Story...is for everone who wants to try telling a story to Early Years children without using a book. It gives you all the matieral from Cooking Up A Story - here in an easy-to-take-in form. You can play the stories on the CD to the children but better still you can use them to help you develop your own storytelling skills. Listen to the stories and chants while you're making the supper or driving to work.think one of them through whe you've got a spare moment and take a look at the accompanying notes for extra hints on how to tell it. Then try it out at storytime. It could be a magical experience. The children you work with will appreciate a story told by you and you'll enjoy it more yourself.
