Her first picture book for Dorling Kindersley, Just Grandpa and Me tells the story of the relationship between a boy and his grandfather (1998). This is her second book about Silly Goose and Daft Duck (Silly Goose and Daft Duck Play Hide-and-Seek, DK, Autumn 1999) in the Toddler Story Book series and she is the author of Don't Rock the Boar! Helen Nicoll worked with Jan Pienkowski for over forty years, first at the BBC and then on the Meg and Mog stories. She owned and ran the audio company Cover to Cover for many years. Helen lived in Marlborough, Wiltshire. She died on September 30, 2012.
